14th through 19th of July next to.Shestovytsa village in Chernihiv district it will be held X International festival of Slavic and Varangian cultures and historical fencing “Korovel-2010”
In the festival will participate clubs and organizations engaged in historical fencing, historical reconstruction, role modeling and other activities associated with the Slavic heritage.
Visitors can watch jousts in the nominations “shield-sword” and “sword-sword”, the group fights; historic triathlon, archery contests, knives throwing, they can listen to the songs of bygone time by visiting the minstrels tournament, participate in ancient ceremonies and activities; visit the historic costume contest.

In Sen’kivka village which is in the north of Gorodnya district in Chernihiv region there is a unique place where borders of three Slavonic countries converge in a single point: Chernihiv region (Ukraine), Bryansk region(Russian Federation) and Gomel region (Belarus). It is here that 26 and 27 June will be held the traditional international Youth Festival “Friendship-2010”.

This year’s festival, the “host country” of which is Ukraine is marked by following momentous events.

This year the Monument of Friendship which is the symbol of the festival is 35 years old.
On the occasion of 65 anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, the festival slogan has been chosen: “We won together!

As usual different sporting events, tournaments and competitions will be organized for the festival guests. Quartet “Hetman”, Katja Buzhinsky and many other performers will be performing on the festive concert. Festival participants will be able to attend show “The strongest people on earth.”, holiday fairs and craftsmen town.

The owner of the holiday farm “Myslyvska palanka” Rostislav Malyarenko has long been engaged in collecting antiques and studying the history of the region. Over time, he has collected so many artifacts and materials, that it was decided to open a private museum, which was housed in his estate.

Authentic artifacts and materials accompanied by a fascinating narration of the founder of the museum reveal the history of this region since ancient times, customs, way of life and culture of local people.

The fact that the founder of the museum resides in an area directly related to the names of many famous Cossack and noble families, in close proximity to the famous Trostyanetsky the park, could not but be reflected in main subject of the exposition.
The special place in the museum is assigned to artifacts which belonged to representatives of such known families as the Tarnovskies, Galagans, Grabbes, Gorlenkos, etc.

The collection includes a section devoted to the history of the Skoropadskies family and in particular to Ivan Mikhailovich Skoropadskyi. After all, in many respects it was his merit that Trostianets appeared with its amazing dendrological park. In addition to personal belongings of Skoropadsky, the museum presents a large number of photos and documentary material telling about the history of the park, its development and modernity.

Всем дайверам, хоть раз погружавшимся в наших водоёмах, очевидно, что состояние вышеназванных оставляет желать лучшего. На праздник, который устраивают дайверы, приглашаются не только те, кто уже давно и серьезно «заболел» тягой к подводному миру, но и друзья, знакомые, родственники и дети. «Неныряющая» аудитория помогает приводить в порядок берега водоёма и благоустраивает пляжи.
За минувшие пять лет День очистки водоемов приобрел как постоянных организаторов, так и постоянных участников, сотни тонн утилизированного мусора – результат работы людей, увлеченных не только дайвингом и предпочитающих активный отдых, но и их друзей и близких. В общей сложности в акции приняли участие около 30 тысяч человек из пяти государств: России, Белоруссии, Украины, Казахстана и Литвы.
