Borzna Art and Memorial Museum “Manor of People’s Artist of Ukraine Oleksandr Sayenko” is a unique center of Ukrainian culture in Chernihiv region.
Alexander Sayenko was born in August 20, 1899 in the town of Borzna, Chernihiv region. In childhood he suffered a serious illness that resulted in loss of speech and hearing. He studied at St. Petersburg College for the Deaf, and then graduated from Kyiv Art Institute. All his life O.Sayenko enthusiastically worked on his work wishing to create museum in Borzna town. His dream came true after his death thanks to his daughter Nina Sayenko in November 5, 1996.
Nina Sayenko the artist of Decorative Arts, Honored Artist of Ukraine has donated the museum more than a thousand exhibits.
The Art of Alexander Sayenko related with folk material-straw. The artist was a pioneer in the technique of straw inlay. He proved that the straw is quite suitable material for interior decoration and making referrals monumental images.
The exposition includes 5 rooms:
1 room – hallway
2 rooms – living room (hall)
3 room – dining room
4 rooms – kitchen
5 bedrooms – bedroom
Museum collection counts over a thousand exhibits:
– A collection of straw inlaid works of authorship
– A collection of commemorative items
– Collection of tiles (Ichnyansky and Dutch)
– Collection of furniture
– A collection of books
– Collection of Krolevets’ towels
Among the most interesting exhibits is large decorative painting “Cossack Mamai”, “Semen Paliy”, “Meeting of Semen Paliy after the battle at Poltava” and others.

The lodge offers accommodation in a comfortable mini-hotel with 6 double rooms, and detached cottage max. for 8 persons. In the rooms there is a toilet, constant hot and cold water.
It is possible to go hunting, fishing, tracking in the forest, photo safaris (observation of wild animals), horse riding. There is a shooting gallery, restaurant and ground for a picnic.
